Dr. Jeff Symonds graduated with a degree in Zoology
from the University of Washington. He attended dental school
at Northwestern University, receiving his Doctor of Dental
Surgery degree in 2001. Dr. Symonds completed his orthodontic
residency at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC)
in Washington D.C., where he was Chief Resident of this
prestigious program.
Dr. Symonds joined Anchorage Orthodontic Associates
in August 2003. He has experience in the orthodontic treatment
of children born with craniofacial anomalies and was part
of the Cleft Palate Team at CNMC as a resident. He is a
member of the Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Team for the State
of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services. He
is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists
and the American Cleft Palate Association.
Dr. Symonds also volunteers with the State of Alaska Cleft Palate Team once a month and also with the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program. Through the DDS program, dentists donate their services to help individuals with special needs who cannot afford dental treatment. DDS members provide comprehensive dental care and help to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people who really need help.
Dr. Symonds grew up in Washington State. He spends
his free time restoring classic cars, snowboarding, downhill
skiing and enjoying the great outdoors with his wife Lisa and their dog Cooper.
